8TH EUROPEAN VETERANS CHAMPIONSHIP

1. The tournament will be played in KAPELLE (THE NETHERLANDS) from 7th till 12th September 2009 as part of the SENIOR GAMES 2009, organized by the STICHTING SENIOR GAMES 2009, in cooperation with KNDB, EDC and STICHTING DAMEVENEMENTEN ZEELAND.

2. The EDC board gave for this special event permission to award the title of European Champion 2009 to the winner of this Tournament.

3. Arriving day for players from abroad: 6th September.

4. Opening and the first round on 7th September; closing 12th September in the afternoon; the complete playing schedule is on www.seniorgames2009.com (see point 7).

5. Playing hall: Dorpshuis "DE VROONE" at KAPELLE. (Next to the railway-station).

6. Players must be born on 31st December 1959 or before!

8. Closing date of registrations: 1st June 2009.

10. The (provisional) maximum number of players is 75.

11. The entry fee is 60 Euro for all participants, payable to STICHTING SENIOR GAMES; after confirmation of your registration you will receive an invoice. The EDC agrees with this special arrangement.

12. Time control is 1 hour 20 minutes + 1 minute per move (Fischer system).

13. The tournament will be played in 9 rounds Swiss system on rating; rounds can be modified in line with the number of participants by the main referee after consulting the EDC and the organizers.

14. Final places according to FMJD rules applying to Swiss system (barrages will not be played).

15. ORGANIZERS GUARANTEE AND PAY ACCOMMODATION AND FULL BOARD FOR ONE COMPETITOR FROM EACH FEDERATION IN "HOTEL SMITS" AT WEMELDINGE; www.hotelsmits.com; e-mail: hrsmits@zeelandnet.nl; tel. 0113-62 12 14.

16. ALL FEDERATIONS ARE REQUESTED TO GIVE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE THE NAME OF THEIR FREE OF COSTS REPRESENTANT to the Senior Games Organisation or the Stichting Damevenementen Zeeland. (see point 9 or 18 ).

17. Other players have to pay all their costs; see information about accommodations on www.seniorgames.com.

18. Free transport between the accommodation and the playing hall will be arranged for players who book their accommodation on www.seniorgames2009.com.

19. The main referee will be DEMASURE, JOHAN, from Belgium; his assistant will be BOOT, COR, from the Netherlands; for account of the Senior Games the main referee stays in Hotel Smits in Kapelle too.
